Can't Grok Bot already make calls?
Yes, Grok Bot can place calls on its own. Use Phone Bud when you want to ask a list of places the same thing and compare the answers, call from your own verified number, or keep every call's notes, transcript and recording in one account. Phone Bud calls US and Canada numbers.
What does the skill do?
It tells Grok Bot when to use Phone Bud, to confirm the number and the request with you before dialing, how to write the request, and how to report back. Read the skill.
What comes back from a call?
The call status, the full transcript, and notes with a summary, outcome and key details. A list returns the same for each call, plus the fields you asked for, such as price.
Does the agent say it's an AI?
Yes, if asked. The skill has Grok Bot put that in every request, and the agent never claims to be a person or you.
Who can it call?
People and businesses in the US and Canada that you have a reason to contact. No marketing calls or cold outreach. See the acceptable use policy.
Does it work with Cursor or Claude Code?
Yes. It's the same MCP server, so any client that accepts an API key header can use it. MCP setup.
What does it cost?
Your first call is free, up to 5 minutes. After that it's CA$8 for 15 minutes, CA$20 for 60 minutes or CA$80 for 300 minutes, billed by the minute (rounded up), with no subscription.
Is Phone Bud made by xAI?
No. Phone Bud is an independent app that works with Grok Bot. It isn't affiliated with Grok Bot's maker.
