Fair questions
Does it say it's an AI?
It introduces itself as your assistant. If anyone asks, it says it's an AI. It never claims to be you or a person. If you write your own agent instructions, keep those rules in them.
Can it get through phone menus and hold?
Yes. It presses keypad tones, answers spoken menus, and waits on hold. Calls end at 30 minutes, including hold time, or 5 minutes on your free call. If the menu will ask for an account or order number, include it in your request.
What if nobody answers?
It leaves a short voicemail about your request and hangs up. You can set it to hang up without leaving one.
Can it transfer the call to me?
No. It asks your question itself and sends you the answer. You can listen live and end the call at any time. Calls come from a Phone Bud number, so put your own number in the request if you want a callback, or verify your number in Settings and call from it.
Can it handle my account with a company?
Only partly. It won't pretend to be you, so it can't pass identity checks like a PIN or security questions for an account holder.
Is the call recorded?
Every call gets a transcript. Audio isn't recorded when either number has an area code in a US state that requires everyone's consent. Recording and consent.
Can it call several places with the same question?
Yes. Paste a list of numbers into a campaign and it calls each one with the same request.
Is there an API or MCP server?
Yes. There's an MCP server at phone-bud.com/mcp that ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and Grok Bot can connect to. Most sign in with your Phone Bud account; others use an API key from Settings, Developer. MCP setup, Grok Bot setup.
