Can an AI call a store to check if something is in stock?
Yes. Tell Phone Bud the store's number and the item. It calls, gets through the phone menu to the right department, asks whether the item is in stock today and what it costs, and sends you the answer and a transcript. It calls US and Canada numbers, and the first call is free.
Make a free callWhat to include in your request
The store's phone number, the exact item (brand, model and size), and whether you need it today. If you want them to set one aside, say so.
What happens on the call
Phone Bud introduces itself as an assistant calling for a customer. If a phone menu answers, it presses keys or speaks to reach a store associate, waits on hold, then asks your question. If nobody answers, it leaves a short voicemail.
What you get back
A short answer such as “In stock, 2 left, $89”, the key details, and the full transcript.
Limits
Staff can't always check the shelf during a call, and some stores send calls to a central line or an automated assistant that can't check stock. Phone Bud reports what it was told. Don't put card details in a request.
